Inspired by Star Power

Well, that title is two-fold... my "mentor" and inspiration STAR, Brenda Quintana AND her new tutorial with the Hershey Kiss Stars in patriotic colours for my American friends' July 4th celebrations.  You can see her tutorial here and while you're there, take a look at all the other awesomeness available.  You have an occasion... she's got the table "candy"/dressing!

So without further adieu, let me present my Hershey Kiss Canada Day Maple Leaf!

The Maple Leaf is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits available from Stampin' Up.
The cardstock is, of course, by Stampin' Up - Real Red

I just diecut two Maple Leafs, snipped the bottom stem and then followed Brenda's tutorial.  Easy peasy!

Fun with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers

I've been challenging myself to colour with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and having a blast.  Here are some of the pieces I've been working on.

And yes, you do spy some Bloobel goodness there :-)

I will come back and highlight one of the colourings and the markers I used.

Push and Pull

These digital images just appeared magically in my Inbox today.  I signed up for the Bloobel "Troo Bloo" monthly subscription back in February and I haven't been disappointed yet.  $5 a month and an exclusive image (sometimes a bonus too - like today) shows up in my inbox twice a month.

So today was exciting.  A code for TWO images appeared!  Push and Pull.  Funny little ol' men that would be perfect for so many projects/events.  I chose to flip them and put them on a Z-fold card.  Push is on the front trying to block the "big day" coming and Pull is reeling in that special day.  If I knew someone with a milestone birthday, I'd add some big die cut numbers on the brickwork on the front of the card.  For now, I'll leave it as is.

Quick and dirty colouring with Copics -
Skin: E50-51-271; E93; R20; E04
Hair: C1-2-W3
Eyes: BG000-B93-C4; BG000-C2
Pants: C4-6-8
Boots/Belt: W5-7-9
Shirt: BG000-C2-"0" (colourless blender)
Rope: Y21-E35
Ground: E43-44

Cardstock and Happy Birthday die from Stampin' Up; Brick Wall EF is Tim Holtz; Nuvo Glitter Gloss for Happy Birthday diecut

It's a simple Z-fold card and I put an extra mat on the backside to write a message.

Thanks for looking!  Oh, and if Push and Pull are calling you, you can still get them if you sign up for the Troo Bloo subscription this month (June).  Two images minimum per month and TWO codes for discounted images... what are you waiting for?!

Celebrate the Music

Angels Hearts n' Memories has done it again... some timeless beauties of memorable musical decades past.

I have chosen Poodle Skirt Cristena and created a quick and simple fun fold, Concertina Card.  I made a few adjustments to the size, but you can find the original tutorial here --> Beccy's Place.  In hindsight, I should've coloured in "bobby socks" instead of leggings but I think she's cute either way ;-)

Coloured with Copics:

B60-C5-7-9
R24-E07-E09-T6

Additional:

No colouring!

What?!  You don't say lol.  Occasionally I surprise myself.  I often create cards for my Stampin' Up classes without colouring but there is always lots of stamping and techniques.  More and more colouring/painting is taking over.  This last couple of weeks have been busy and I just haven't been able to find the time or drive to lose myself in colouring but... I needed to be creative.  So I made a bunch of much-needed quick and clean thank you cards.

Supplies: Stampin' Up Butterfly and Dragonfly dies, Hexagon and Butterfly Embossing Folders and cardstock; Creative Basics dies; Crafters Companion, Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy Orchids; decorative paper from my stash.

Orchids

This is one of the stamps from the Little Bit Sketchy Orchid (Sheena Douglass collection) at Crafters Companion.  I've coloured it up with the Aquablend pencils (Primary Set) on watercolour paper.

I stamped with an Archival Black and used a waterbrush with the Aquablend pencils.  It was quick and easy.  I also tried the Aquablend pencils on two other surfaces, the Bristol Smooth and Recycled Bristol.  Both with equally good results; however, my fave is with the watercolour paper followed next by the Recycled Bristol (using the "tooth side" of the paper).

The decorative paper is from my stash as are the dewdrops.  The sentiment stamp and cardstock are Stampin' Up and the gorgeous dies I used are Creative Basics dies - the Basic Cutting Edge Borders and Basic Stitched Flags

Thanks for looking and check us out on Passionate Paper Creations & Friends Facebook Group for more inspiration and fun.

Butterflies

Can never have too many butterflies!

This is a butterfly from the stamp set Flights of Fancy by Crafters Companion.  I've coloured it up with the Aquablend pencils (Primary Set) and then done a quick overlay with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers (Clear Overlay and Perfect Pastels).

It's been stamped with an archival black ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and then coloured with the Aquablend pencils and a waterbrush.  For the sparkle markers, you must move quickly and brush it over your piece without "working it", otherwise, the marker will reactivate the pencil and move the colour.

It's hard to see the sparkle in the photo, so I'm attaching a pic taken before I made it into a card.  It's really yummy in person and the light pastels really make the pencil more vibrant if you match the tones (Cosmos used on the pink; Moonstone on the blue/green; clear on the Butterfly body).

The cardstock, sentiment, circle die and embossing folder are from Stampin' Up.

Thanks for looking.

Disco Fever

Ta-done!

So, if you're reading my blog, you know I did a pictorial colour-along with the recent TrooBloo Subscription image from Bloobel Stamps.  This is Disco Fever and she should be available for another couple of days.  And... more importantly, she's made it to a card!

I've made a large center-step card and used some beautiful Creative Basics dies for some extra pop.

The "Bling" crystals are from a dollar store find.  The papers are from my never-ending stash.

Copic Colours Used can be found in an album for the Disco Fever girl on the Bloobel Stamps Facebook Group page.

Also, don't forget to join us on the Passionate Paper Creations and Friends Facebook Group for more fun and inspiration 24/7.  Check for the "pinned post" to sign up for the newsletter - it promises to be exciting and full of surprises.

Another Colouring Pictorial

This time I'm using Disco Fever which is the March image from the TrooBloo Subscription package. She will be available 'til the end of March. You can see the last image and post that I did here.

I will just be doing "basic colouring", nothing fancy... but that curly hair lol.  So many ways to do curly hair but I will show you how I do it on this image.

I'm hoping to even make time to get her on a card.  Don't hold your breath or run any bets tho' [big wink].

So won't you grab this image/subscription in the Bloobel Store and come join us in the Bloobel Stamps Facebook Group?

Copic Earthtones

Well, the best laid plans... often go awry lol.  I didn't have a plan for colours when I set out, but I had decided to stick with just the Earthtones.  If I do them again, I will soften the shirt colours.  I did "cheat" tho' (okay, read: wasn't thinking lol) and added my standard BV20 to my skintones and R20 to the lips.  If I was re-doing, I'd stick with the E93 or 95 on her lips with the E04 and I'd change up the BV20 for E71.

Juggler - part of the TrooBloo Subscription package (this was February)

Steampunk Time
Copics Used:
Skin - E50-51-21-11-BV20 (could use E71 if sticking to just the Copic E's); E93-95 cheeks; R20-E04 lips

Hair - E51-55-57
Hats - E71-74-77-79

Blouse/dress - E93-95-97-0

Easter Parade of Hats

It's the beginning of a new month with another Progressive Challenge at Bloobel Stamps Facebook Group.

This month we have a whole Easter Parade going.  Lisa couldn't just stop at one image, she gave us 6 to choose from!  I chose Easter Parade Judy and then got her a little sidekick called Easter Parade Marty (the cat).  The twist this month is to dress up/add to those hats.  So, I added a little duckling peeking over the top of Judy's bonnet and maybe hoping that sly cat doesn't see him.

If you didn't play in the previous month's Progressive Challenge, you can still 'buy your way in', by purchasing one of the specific images (the Easter Parade crew) and colouring it up and entering in the Facebook Group.  You can see all the images in the Bloobel shop here.

Copics Used:
Judy -
E50-51-21-11-BV20; E93-RV11; R20-E04

Cleaning Claire

Let me introduce you to Cleaning Claire.  She is one of the Angels Hearts n' Memories exclusive new releases.  Angela actually inked up these cuties herself from just sketches!  I don't wanna know the process... I just know it's not as easy as "etch-a-sketch" lol.

So I've created a fun fold card with some heavy decorative paper from my stash.

The cardstock and stamp are from Stampin' Up; the small sentiment inside is computer generated by me and punched out with a retired Stampin' Up punch
