A "Grand" Anniversary

My parents' anniversary was yesterday so now I can safely post the card.

I used "Grand Dance" from Some Odd Girl Stamps - it was the suspenders that sold it lol.  Then I made a large double diamond fold card.

The card was so large and "thick" that I thought it needed a special box so created a large split top box.  This gave me an opportunity to create a little giftcard pocket on the inside.  I forgot to take a photo of the back of the card where I matted a large white rectangle message panel with some of the burgundy coloured cardstock.  I also die cut a banner flag border die in the burgundy to adhere diagonally on this piece and continue the colour palette to the back.

Crafter's Companion Construction Cardstock and Rustic Wedding paper; Biarritz Heart Frame Cut and Emboss die debuting on HSN January 8, 2019; Parisian Collection, Je t'aime (couple on bench die cut).

Other: Stampin' Up dies and cardstock; other die cuts from my stash

Christmas Card

I am so bad about blogging regularly.  I know I'm not alone lol.

Here is the card I made for my husband this year.  It's a large card - finished size is 5" x 7".  The base is 8-1/2" x 7" and scored at 3-1/2" on the long side to make a side flap fold.  I used a large oval die and scored it about 1/2" down one long side and tucked it under the inside panels for the flap on the right which tucks under the sentiment on the card front to "lock it" closed.

The image is called "Ugly Christmas Sweater" by Simply B Stamps.  I merged a snowman and snowflakes that I had onto the sweater front.  Believe it or not, I also printed the teeny snowman again (it's about an inch high), coloured it and fussy cut it out to adhere overtop the original to give a bit of dimension.

Coloured with my Copics.  Cardstock and decorative paper from Stampin' Up as well as the retired "Falala" word die.  Snowflakes are a Marianne Design die and the snowflake swirls are Find It Trading and the snowflake circle is a Poppystamp die.

Pumpkin Spice Witch

This is Pumpkin Spice Witch from Annie Rodrigue.  You can purchase her at 7KidsCraftStore.

I'm not a Pumpkin Spice Latte girl so, much as it pained me ('cause it's a beautiful sentiment and font that Annie used), I cropped off the sentiment and added my own.

Coloured with Copics (listed below).  The "If you can't fly with the big girls" sentiment is one a friend made and the "Spooktacular" is one I got from Zoe of Make It Crafty.

I'm not sure yet if either of these will end up on a project but think the "fly with the big girls" would look great in a display frame :-) .

Christmas Fairy Bauble

Hi All!

I love taking time to just colour for myself.  And I love "taking" online lessons as it helps you grow.  As I continually say, you will always take away something from a class even if you "think" you know what's being taught.

So I've been making some time this week to colour along with Zoe of Make it Crafty.  Zoe has some fabulous written tutorials (check them out on her website) but she's now ventured into online video format and I'm loving it.

Meet Fairy Bauble.  I'm not quite done but thought I'd show my progress.

You can find the link for the lesson details here.

A past colouring re-visited

Every once in awhile it's a neat idea to colour something you've previously done to see how your colouring techniques may have changed.  I was reminded of this the other day (altho' I don't remember who might have mentioned it) and thought I'd go through my images to see what might "call to me".

I've been playing with copics for just over 4 years now and thought I'd pull one from about that time.  One of the first images I bought was "Shelley Mermaid" by Sylvia Zet.  Partly because I'd "vowed" to buy things when I see my name spelled "correctly" lol (you know, those "tourist-y" items like pens, pads, magnets etc).  For some reason, I'm seldom parted with my money heehee.

I bought Shelley Mermaid directly from Sylvia Zet but you can still get this image as a stamp from Whimsy Stamps here.

So here is Shelley Mermaid coloured "now" (June 2018) and the original one on the right from October 2014.  Both coloured with Copics.

I'd like to enter this in the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge 107 "Anything Goes" as the rules say it doesn't have to be a card... yeah, as I don't want to part with this one yet either.

Say it isn't so!

If you have spent ANY time on my blog, then you know how much I LOVE me some Bloobels!

It's with much sadness that I announce that Bloobel Stamps is closing it's doors at the end of the month.  Lisa is another one of my very favourite digital stamp artists who has chosen to retire.  I'm beginning to get a complex lol.  I still have lots to collect and colour so I'm sure you'll see me post some more goodies.

We have 'til the end of May (yes, I said "we" as their are still a few that I don't have and I NEED) to add to our collections.  And if you've just discovered these quirky fun images, then you'll be especially delighted as you can collect them for $1 each if you buy more than $5.00 (and try to buy just one lol... they're like Lays chips... you can't eat/have just one!).

So I'll leave you with a little eye candy from my vast (and it will be growing before month's end) collection of Bloobel goodness.

I can't possibly link all that I have just posted, but if you need a name, drop me a line.  I have lots and lots more at different stages of progess but I won't taunt you with them... for now.

Thanks for looking!
